My philosophy of life and work is intertwined. I share an affinity for this quote by Saint Francis of Assisi, "he who works with his hands is a laborer;
he who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman; he who works with his hands, and his head, and his heart is an artist."

When I meet the subject  I drink in a sense of the individual whether the subject is a fresh child, stoic businessman, noble horse or a keen dog.  Even if the subject is not with us anymore I want to know all I can about the essence of that individual.  The portrait must reflect that particular person or pet not just any child or any animal.  That is my strength as an artist, to capture life for you.

Linda was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and grew up in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She graduated with honors from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California in 1985.

 

Linda has earned acclaim from the start.  She was a winner in the Society of Illustrators Annual Competition, New York, NY. She began her career in New York City as a freelance Commercial Illustrator in Manhattan, producing works for clients that include Radio City Music Hall, RCA Records, and Harper & Row, Collins.

 

Her commissioned works hang in the Norwegian Embassy, Washington D.C., the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), the offices of Northrop Grumman,Norfolk,VA, and the new Funari Building for special honor guard, Washington D.C.  NASA has commissioned four paintings and several drawings that hang in the Kennedy Space Center Museum, and Lewis Research Facility, Cleveland, Ohio. Her art has been part of The National Museum for Women in the Arts, Washington D.C., and our Nation's Art Train (next to works by Warhol, Rockwell, Wyeth, Max, & Rauschenberg).

 

When Linda is not painting... Linda has always had a great passion for showing horses and now top canines.  She has been able to successfully mesh her love of art and the art of showing top dogs.  Her versatile portrait quality can equally capture people and/or a beloved pet or champion animal of any sort.
